Kayak, watch birds or fish in quiet corner of SW Florida

The living room overlooks the pool and canal.

Spend your vacation in this modern and well-equipped home in St.  James City, Florida.

Bring your boat, binoculars or bike to the three-bedroom, two-bath home on Pine Island for a week or more of relaxation and rejuvenation without sacrificing your creature comforts.

Pine Island, an undeveloped gem of southwestern Florida, offers premier fishing, excellent bird-watching, and easy biking on flat paved trails.

Located on a canal of Pine Island, the Sanctuary at Stabile is well-situated for the power boater, offering access to Sanibel, Captiva, Matlacha and the Gulf of Mexico. Kayakers can ply the protected waters of the mangroves, sighting dolphins, rays, birds and other creatures along the Great Calusa Blueway.

But visitors may not need to leave the house for a quick look at a pileated woodpecker on a tree across the canal, a manatee off the dock or an osprey in flight.

The house sits opposite Saint James Creek Preserve, part of the Calusa Land Trust and home to St. Jude Nature Trail (an easy half-mile nature trail with native trees and plants). It is also a quick walk to a bald eagle’s nest and a short distance from the Galt Nature Preserve, with another bald eagle nest.

The modern custom-built house, with tile floors and ceiling fans, offers cable TV and fast Wi-Fi. See it completely in the photos at https://tours.visualprophotography.com/public/vtour/display/1174422#!/

The great location in St. James City is close to the Ragged Ass Saloon, which features live music; Woody’s Waterside, with food on the water; and island shopping at the Olde Florida Outpost.

The house has a dock with a 10k lift, an additional davit lift, and a fish-cleaning station. The pool has a saltwater system and temperature-controlled solar heating.
